hey guys. i haven't done an art post in awhile, so i thought that i would do one today. as most of your know i've been working at urban outfitters for the six months or so and there's a bunch of cool brands that are carried there. i was closing up the store about two days ago and wandered over into the men's department as saw a ben brough painting from the "skull series" on this graphic t-shirt and flipped out. i love this guy and don't know why i've never shared him with any of you.

well, here i go. he's an american artist who is originally from california but raised in hawaii. he's completely self taught and has an interesting perspective on things. his work takes on a cubist approach but has all of the characteristics of almost child-like arts and crafts. he uses a ton of great colors and really digs into the nitty-gritty of human emotions and characteristics. i really enjoy his stuff. you guys should google him and check this dude out further. here are just a few of his paintings that i thought you would enjoy.

oh boy oh boy oh boy!!! my karlie posts are baaacckk! i think i went the whole month of february without doing a single post on her. hmm...but then again, i think i better check just to make sure. but i know i've been conscious of not always constantly bombarding you guys with my posts on her. but here she is. back on my blog again. she looks phenomenal. i cannot wait to get my march 2012 issue of vogue now. these are awesome photographs. love her, love the colors, love the photographs, styling, lighting. good job vogue us team for making my girl look amazing..as usual. =)

i've been seeing a ton of purple, green, and pleating recently girls. so look out for those things in the stores to incorporate into your spring wardrobe.

milan fashion week.

okay folks. you've GOTTA peep this. i just can't get over how excited i am for the clothes and styles that are going to be out next fall. every city, so far, has had a great fashion week. so the gucci show really captured my attention in milan. my girl frida and her team really did the ~~damn~~ thing this time. it was a very romantic collection...but it was sooo extremely dark. i loved the combination. it seemed to have some elements of menswear in there with the strong stern tailoring from some pieces but then sort of gloomy and romantic with the flower details. i am so enjoying this usage of black, dark purple, and emerald green that we're seeing internationally in so many designers color palettes for their collections. do you guys like that?? i sure do. anyways, i'm sure gucci customers are going to be running to the stores to pick up their gowns and jackets from this collection full of all this dark glamour and all its glory.

i want it all....ALL OF IT! if i could dress like this every day of my life, i so would! lfw, has really been impressing me, i must say. but this collection. woo-wee. it's so much fun. so many colors, so many prints, great texture, ahhhh it's just all to die for. there's this equestrian nature to it all that i'm obsessed with. and again, this show has a red lip but it's a brighter more fun one. so ladies, be sure to head on over to your local mac counter to pick up your new red lipsticks for next fall. so let me tell ya, the colors are impeccable. you've got emerald greens, fun reds, and grays mixed in with a whole lot of other fun stuff. there's also these great horizontal stripped sweaters that i would kill for. the necklines are fun because they're either super high colors or really low plunging v-necks, but very flattering on the models' frames. eeeek, i truly could go on and on about how much i love this but i won't bore you with my rambling any longer. so here are my favorite looks from the show, hope you like them.

well howdy there folks. this weekend has been so chill and relaxing for me. i got good hours at work so i didn't have to come in too early or stay too late. i've just been taking some time out for myself to calm down and not be thrown around like a rag-doll with my busy schedule. there's so many good collections that i've seen so far from new york and london. eeekk! i decided to spread out my reviews for them. and besides, this stuff isn't going to be out for a lonnng time anyways, so you'll be okay not to have my perspective for a little bit, right?? lol.
okay, so nicole farhi is not someone who i think i've ever blogged about but for this season, I HAD TO! omfg, i literally do not have one negative thing to say about this entire collection. seriously. everything was so chic and sophisticated with this dark feel to it, and the models just wreaked of classic elegance. loved it! there were these mustard green/yellow colors, light grays, black, and white with dark red lipstick to top it all off. it was seriously impeccable. the fabrics went from this crazy shiny fringe, to to sequins. oh my lord and the tailoring was to die for! great silhouettes, great models, great concept....you know what fashionistas, this show get two thumbs up from me. so here's my favorite looks from the show. hope you like.

hello again. i thought i'd do more than one post today if that's alright with you.

i just can't get this marc jacobs show out of my mind. it was BANANAS! so my boy marc teamed up with incredible milliner extraordinaire stephen jones so create this wild and crazy of a show. it was pretty interesting. it had this alice in wonderland gone mad feel to it that really wasn't what i was expecting from him this season...but then again in fashion you should always expect the unexpected. so anyways, this show was filled with fun boufant hats that were a big attention grabber. there were also huge skirts, whimsical fabrics, and bulky layers. the color pallette was all over the place but still some how managed to flow cohevisvly. there were greens to pinks, to lilacs, to golds. it was just a magical fairy fun land.

even though everything seemed to be kind of hodge-podge and thrown together in an interesting way for the runway, i can however see some pieces selling very well. a few of the shawls, coats, and pants were very wearable once you break them away from the mad frenzy of styling that was going on. did i personally like the show? ehhh...it wasn't my favorite but it was fun to look at...it was exciting. i liked it...sorta kinda, but it didn't make me want to pee in my pants over it. got it??? hello fashionistaaas!!! this past fashion week has been interesting. i can't wait to see what the other cities have to offer. i can feel a real sense of designers trying to push more futuristic and innovative fabric, styles, and shapes into their collections. ....eeeek, it's pretty exciting (especially for someone who isn't so afraid of change in clothing). i was trying to decide who i should do a post on first,...and after much debate, i thought i'd go ahead and talk about mr. wang.

now alexander wang is someone who i've admired for awhile now but never been completely blown away except for like one of his shows like three seasons ago, but you get my point. recently, my love for him has sort of drizzled down into this sea of no return,....until i saw this new collection for fall 2013. i was amazed. i really liked it. i felt as though he wasn't desperately trying to be cool and edgy, but let his inner design genius just speak for itself. everything was cohesive, well thought out, and put together brilliantly. i really enjoyed it. there was a great play on texture with puffy vests, to almost oil-slick looking details, to leather, to shiny manipulated coats....ahhh pure magnificence. it was a pretty dark color pallet for the most part. the show started with two white looks and then drifted off into black and deep maroon. quite a few awesome bags and shoes in the mix as well. i really liked this you guys, so be sure to check it out whenever you get a chance. here's my favorite looks from the show.

hi guys. i'm at school right now. i've got a little bit of free time until my next class so i thought i'd go ahead and post something for you guys. so yesterday i had to help out at this photoshoot. i got there at about 10:45ish in the morning and didn't get out of there until like NINE O'CLOCK AT NIGHT! holy ~~hell~~! it was fun though. then i came home and accidentally passed out, but luckily i woke up early because i had to study for this philosophy test (that i just finished). i think, i did pretty good on it actually, it wasn't as hard as i expected, but then again, i've always liked philosophy so taking a class on it really isn't all too difficult for me. sooo anyways, fashion week in the big apple started yesterday. be prepared for a lot of great reviews from me in the near future. i always love the fall shows, so hopefully this season is going to be cool. *fingers crossed*.

anyways, i found this spread for jalouse magazine a few days ago, i thought i posted it, but i guess not. so here it is. it's really strange to me. i can't decide whether or not i like it -especially the cover- but however, you can't deny that it is somewhat interesting to look at....right? so yeah, it's got this kiddy, eery, quirky, mad feeling to it. can't describe it in one word, but hopefully you catch my drift. then how she has magazine clippings of celebrities stuck to her it kind of a conversation piece. i'm getting that our celebrity driven culture and obsession plays a huge role in what we wear and we idolize these people like crazy. so uhh yeah.

hello fashionistas. it's bright and early here in the stl. it's really weird because today i looked at the weather forecast so i could decide what to wear today and it's going to be 66 degrees!!!! what the heck is going on with the world!?!?! this is crazy. anyways, i thought that i owed you guys another fashion show review so here it is!

the giambattista valli spring couture show (try saying that three times fast) was probably my favorite out of all the spring 2012 couture shows this year. everything else was oddly disappointing and realllyyyy lacked that true essence of haute couture that i so look forward to. but anyways, i suppose i'll live. so this show had an oscar de la renta feel to it that i really liked because everyone knows that de la renta is definitely one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE DESIGNNERRSS! so it started off as a very black and white collection and then once you got to the end you were bombarded with gorgeous pinks and purples. it was really cool. it didn't have a harsh look to it at all, even though it was mainly black and white. everything seemed to be made to perfection. gorgeous draping in the gowns, killer details, soft floral embellishments, and an extreme sense of opulence made this show spectacular. i really enjoyed giving this show in particular a deeper look because it was so much fun to look at all of these amazing pieces of clothing. i need to somehow find a way to be a hit celebrity so that i can be dressed in couture garb everyday. -__- oh well....i don't think that's going to happen anytime soon so i'll hold off on that aspiration for awhile. anyways, hope you guys give this show a look. here's my favorite looks from the show. enjoy!!!

this is PERFECT!!! with the exception of the first image in the spread which is cuuuteee...but i didn't like it so much so i decided not to include it in this post. =)

anyways, i'm really into beauty stuff (well....today that is). i'm over my crazy makeup obsessed days but i always like to see a good set of pictures with some killer makeup. don't you agree? even the clothes are fun. i'm digging the leather jacket. i'm actually wearing mine today because i liked this shoot so much lol. then the second outfit on here has GOT to be my favorite out of all of them. i've never been a big fan of creepers or that style shoe but my girl frida here makes em' look goooood. so if you can't tell i think for this spread elle sweden picked the perfect model, perfect clothes, perfect makeup, and perfect photographer for this. lovveesss iiitttt!

hi guys! i love this!! it reminds me of how my bedroom used to look until i redid it. i remember people used to be obsessed with my wall that was covered in fashions spreads and advertisements. (lol, a real hit among the hipster kids). these pics are great. i've never head of anna before so i looked her up. she's a newcomer for unique models. i like her. i can dig her look and style....especially for this. vogue italia is big time for a new model. i'm enjoying how this was styled. it's got a masculine and rock edge but a sophisticated clean cut feel to it. it's kind of like she's trying to be this harsh rebel but she's really pretty put together and polished. i could compare this to myself....in a way. maybe...sorta kinda...idk, you guys can judge for yourself lol. anyways, like i said earlier, look out for fashion show reviews from the haute couture shows going on. i'll talk to you guys later. if you need anything, be sure to shoot me an email. otherwise, head over to my youtube channel to check out my videos.

ohhh coco, how i've missed you so. i haven't done a post with you in it for awhile girl!!! where you been?!?! lol. i love this girl, and i think i always have. this set of photographs is really fun. i love the mix of the different designers from the likes of louis vuitton, miu miu, and erdem all mixed together. it's funny because every shot seen here is so different but i must say that i'm a pretty big fan of all of this even though nothing necessarily matches or "goes together." but that's okay, because it works! =)

hey there kiddos. well, today is my first day of school for the spring 2012 semester. i'm kind of excited. and the funny thing is, i didn't even think about school at all over my month or so winter break. it really didn't even cross my mind. but now, that i'm sitting inside of this library i had gotten ever so close to, the feeling of school is now starting to settle back in =) i didn't go to sleep AT ALL. i just stayed up and watched theskorpionshow on youtube while contemplating what outfit i was going to wear today lol. if my sister is up for it, i'll make her take pictures to post later on. but anyways, then i decided to drive to school early to get a good parking spot. and nowwww i'm here. i don't have class for an hour so i figured i would blog for a little bit. i have three classes today. first up is "the fashion industry" then philosophy, and the last class of the day is graphic design. fun right?!!! i'm pretty stoked.

soooo onto these photographs. i found them yesterday or something and they stuck out to me but in a different sort of way that a group of images usually does. i wasn't really paying attention to the clothes at all. and now that i'm scanning my eyes back over them, i'm still not really looking at the clothes. but the photography here is on point. i think that tempest captured some great photos here. i'm really digging the grittiness but light nature to the pictures. what do you guys think??? email me and let me know.

hello folks. sooooo all the shows for menswear fall 2012 are going on right now.

i'm really loving everything that i've been seeing lately. so far, the dolce & gabbana show has been my favorite. it exuded such a sophistication and looking at it felt like you were watching a story unfold through time. it was pretty gosh darn cool if you ask me. it had an operatic artsy vibe, but with a touch of modernism. but then towards the end, the reeled it in and you were able to see that structure and impeccable cuts/tailoring were the star of the show. i hope you guys head over to style.com to read the review for yourself. this was pretty awesome guys. here's my favorite looks from the show.

this is a gorgeous cover. since i've been trying to diversify my blog a little bit more, i thought that i should introduce you guys to this fairly young magazine called fashizblack. they started off doing their thing online and recently decided to turn into a print publication. they're pretty expensive to get your hands on but the content is pretty nifty. it's french, so don't get your panties in a bunch if you thought your eyes were playing tricks on you while trying to read the words on the cover lol. i did the same thing at first. but yeah, they also have a blog. so check em' out guys. hope you enjoy. email me if you want me to continue youtube stuff....i've realllyyyyy been slackin' on it lately and have other requests i still need to do =/

but here she is for free people's january ad. i like it. it's very young, hip, carefree. i want to get out of the lou so bad and move to new york, so i really like this shoot because of that. she's such a chameleon. she can literally pose any way and do anything. even though she's not crazy with her dress and out there, she brings a magical quality to fashion that i enjoy.

howdy folks! i hope everyone had a phenomenal christmas. mine was pretty good. i actually got the beats by dre headphones that i was drooling over. i got the iphone 4s which i was TOTALLY not expecting, plus a bunch of clothes, money, and a great new bag. had a great time with the fam, friends, and the bf was with me for the majority of the evening. so everything was pretty cool. =)

so onto fashion, i found this and thought that this shoot has a very spiritual quality to it. i don't know why but every photograph is so striking. plus since i'm blasting music from the weeknd in the background, i think it's adding to the intenseness of the images LOL. i'm loving the mix of fur and leather with splashes of metals. it's just a great combination. anyways, check it out. more posts to come.

hello fashionistas. i had a HORRID day today. i woke up feeling super sick and couldn't even go to work. i spent the majority of the day running to the trashcan or laying in bed. ughhh, but i feel a little better now. THANK GOD. for the past couple hours i've been watching countless gaga interviews on the internet. i think in a week or so i'll be safe to say that i have seen almost every single video known to man-kind of lady gaga that's floating out there. i have truly become a super fan. i just got done painting a t-shirt that i thrifted the other day that now says 'little monster' on it.

it's so interesting how i've always said that i'd never worship or idolize another human being and i don't look to her as god or anything, but i have become obsessed with her, her music, her ideas, and her image. she's verrryyyy interesting if you ask me. you guys should check out the video on my youtube channel that i made for her. tweet it to her and maybe she'll see it. who knows.

well hello there. time for another fashion show review.

for this pre-fall collection, my boy karl wanted to focus in on one of the coolest countries out there right now, india. but what i find pretty sweet is that he's never even been there. he was quoted saying, "it's much more inspiring not to go places than to go." and you know what, i agree 100%. we grow up with these pre-conceived notions about certain places in the world that gives them this magical quality. it's always great to go to another place in the world, but once you've been there and seen it and leave...it just marks another place and stamp on your passport. and then, what happens when your fantasy doesn't live up to reality??? so yes travelling the world is awesome and seeing new places can change your life (like it did mine) but it really is much more inspiring to look at things from afar.

with that being said, this collection was nice. not my all time favorite, but it was nice. everything was very rich and screamed royalty. it totally looked like india but when chanel comes to town. ;) lots of gold, layering, head pieces, and beads. FABULOUUSS! every look that came down the runway looked like a walking/moving painting. every model, garment, and style was pieced perfectly together. take a look for yourself fashionistas. hope you enjoy.

oh my god! jason wu really is turning into someone who i see as being an iconic designer in the future. his past three collections or so have been really impressive. i think he's found his true style. he's been in the game for a little bit and is truly coming into his own. this whole entire collection is to die for. and most of my readers will know that if i like an entire collection and dub it as flawless then i must really like it because it's not something that i say too often. but really, this whole thing is phenomenal. when interviewed about it he said that he wanted to give his girl luxury. and that's exactly what he did. everything is tailored and cut to perfection. there's such an element of refined sophistication that makes every piece look so rich. a lot of black, grey, mixed with hints of green,blue, and red make this collection pretty coool. he's a fighter for women dressing up and being ladies, and i love that about his work. i had trouble narrowing down my favorite looks but here's what i came up with. head on over to www.style.com for more pictures.

she's a fashion illustrator who's done some amazing work with water colors.

this is an amazing title for this. it fits so extremely well. i often like when photographers and magazine editors decide to do shoots that tell somewhat of a story. this one definitely does. it's so interesting to look at. that's pretty much why i decided to add all of the pictures that i did because it better conveys the message using more than less of them. and besides, this was a lengthy shoot to begin with. but i like it. the colors, her hair standing up on top of her head, the crisp photography...UGGGH! need i say more?!? this is truly incredible. but besides all of that, the clothes are pretty epic. i'm loving the fact that such bright/rich/vibrant colors are in style this fall and winter.

i always like it when i see a spread for a magazine and can picture myself in the clothes being shown. i am in love with the weather right now. of course i'm in stl where the weather is super weird and always changing, but days like today are the best. it's pretty chilly but the sun is out and the sky is such a clear blue...it's gorgeous. the wind slightly blowing and the cool colored leaves.. ahhh, loves it. layering is so in right now and i'm a fan of it this season because it doesn't seem to be too overdone. mixing chunky knits over fitted long sleeves, high waisted bell-bottomed pants, and an awesome hat just tops off the perfect look. check out the pics, hope you like them.

i love this. i'm always a sucker for really good black and white photography. and my boy KL does it amazingly, does he not? i'm also i love with couture. not only do i love clothing, but i'm also in love with design and time and quality. couture clothing is the best because it's handled so delicately and made so passionately. everything about couture is so inspiring to anyone who's obsessed with clothing. i think harper's bazaar did a great job in picking these particular photographs for this spread because they truly illustrate what couture is all about.

hey guys. i know this show took place about a month ago, but with my busy schedule, it's always hardest for me to write fashion show reviews. (and besides, this stuff isn't available til spring anyway). because i want to give my honest opinion and make sure i actually dig deep to look at the show inside and out to properly review in a couple sentences. which is hard to condense, but since people don't want to read a six page review of me ranting, i try my darnedest to keep it short and to the point. so here we go. the gucci show. man-o-man. all i can think about is tailoring, luxury, glamour, money, and honey (hahaha). i loved the show, the models, the whole kit and caboodle. it's a very black collection, but it has so much pops of color and crazy sparkly greatness that it's not dull or boring AT ALL. the models' hair was all slick and sleek. and they had this amazing smoldery pitch black eye makeup that was soooo gnarly. there's a ton of play with geometric shapes and lines on all the clothing. in the beginning you see a mixing of navy and this fabulous turquoise color. there's a ton of pants throughout the whole collection but skirts and cute dresses are in there too. there's a bit of yellow in the middle and then everything else goes to sparkly, shiny, blinding glam. there's an androgynous feel that i get from the show that hasn't really been executed like that in a couple of years. but i really really like that. this show was like, "the new cool." everything about it was phenomenal. looovveeesss iiiiiittttt. i hope you guys do too. so, here's some pics i decided to post to help represent it as well as i could. toodle fashionistas.

this caught my eye. it reminds me of the color scheme going on in lady gaga's judas music video in a way. and if it reminds to of anything gaga, you KNOW it's got to be amazing. i think myf is so gorgeous and elias really managed to bring out her best features here. i'm enjoying the drama here. and most importantly, the drama within the clothes. the dark colors mixed with the sheer textures and bits of embroidery add to their dramatic affect. loves it! anyways, i totally failed on posting more the other day when i said that i would. things got out of hand, and life happens ya know. but that doesn't mean that i'll ever give up on this silly little blog of mine haha. any-who, enjoy the editorial. have a lovely day and go subscribe to my youtube channel. bye.

okie dokie smokies, i'm going to finally do another fashion show review. no outfit post today. i look like a bum anyways. i've got on a black obama tee, jeans, and a cream colored beanie...soo uhh yeah, nothin' spectacular. anywho, lets get into real fashion, shall we? so the balenciaga show was amazing. i've always been an admirer of nicholas ghesquiere's work, and this time is no different. the show was pretty cool if you ask me. sooo apparently the benches everyone was sitting on fell to the ground so everyone had to stand. "all hail the house of balenciaga!" haha. anyways, so the venue was cool. i'm always stoked for the "hallway" effect runway. sooo the clothes were very reminiscent of cristobol balenciaga's actual clothing that ghesquire researched within the old archives. so, very 50s elements but with a modern twist. i love the hot pants, and high waisted jean-like pants with the broad shouldered tops that were paired with them. this was probably the first time in awhile that i could actually see myself wearing something from a balenciaga collection. the fabric choice was really neat as well. ohhh, and the colors ranged from blacks, navys, white, greens, to fusions of purples and arrays of different hues heading towards the end of the collection. i hope you guys go watch the show for yourself, it was pretty legit. anyways, i'll talk to you guys laterr.

ok, wherreee do i begin? so the mulleavy sisters did it again. this collection for spring was very nice. it had a very nice whimsical aspect to it that was really cool. i'm sure if i actually got to see the show in person, that it would strike even stronger emotions. but the still images are still pretty sick. it felt as though you were trapped in a windy cornfield dream world at night. crazy...i know, but that's what i got from it. they said that they took inspiration from vincent van gogh and sleeping beauty. soo i guess i wasn't that far off with my own personal interpretation ehh? the color palette consisted of wonderful mustard yellow/green colors, blues, and purples. they created these wonderful prints that were placed ever nicely on the pieces in the beginning and end of the show. there was a lot of movement in all the dresses that gave them a very "liquidy" feel which was sweet. not too many pants in this collection,...i think they only appeared three or four times. but that was cool, because it made the collection flow easier. soo uhh yeah. i liked this show. but then again, who isn't a rodarte fan? am i right?

hello world. today has been a great day. i accidentally overslept so i missed my one and only class for the day, but i think i'll manage to be okay. i spent the majority of my day so far looking at blogs and listening to my idol kanye west interview and discuss his perceptions on self expression. i love that man. then i decided to do a blog post myself. i want to review a fashion show, but i haven't starred at any new ones long enough to post a review. so i guess you'll have to look at this for now.

i'm not the biggest fan of denim and denim and more denim, but it seems to be all the rage nowadays. i suppose it's just not for me. but i really like this shoot for flair though. maybe it's her hair, the makeup...the overall style that caught my eye. i don't really know, but i do like it. it's very fun. =)

okay okay, i promise to not flood my blog with karlie posts anymore, but she's just gotten so incredibly huge lately that she's all over the place. she was just on the cover of life and then the new alive magazine just came out with her on the cover, and she's been in countless fashion shows and in spreads....so i can't help it. i really like these pictures. i haven't seen her in anything quite like this, so it's sort of refreshing to see a more "natural" her. her body is incredible. i guess since she doesn't do too much nude modeling or more risque things rather, that i never paid to much attention to her frame. she's flawless. i think the second picture i posted is my favorite. i'd so hang that up on my wall or put it into a collage or something. work it kk. keep doing big things girl.

morgie morg is back again. whatsup guys?? so, school was cool today but not i'm home..just chillin, and i promised more posts so here we go. as soon as i was notified that the anna sui show took place last week, i got really excited. even though i never seem to mention her as one of my favorite designers, i've also never managed to say anything bad about her or dislike anything that she's done. well....if i have, i don't remember ever saying anything bad. she's very consistent with her style and knows her client very well. and besides, her shows are so much fun. they have so much life in them. this collection was no different. i absolutely fell in love with it. the turbans, the purple, the prints, the dresses, the styling,....ahhh it all put me in such a cheery mood. so, i tried to narrow down my favorite looks, and here they are.
