ahhhh the androgynousness of the fashion world intrigues me to no end.

....i would say that sometimes my style seems to be looked upon as a little androgynous in a way but then again, i also incorporate feminine touches...soooo i don't know.

today i'm not in the greatest mood. it's president's day, so i was off from school but i had to wake up super early to go to a mock trial practice, the come home and take my mom out....i'm grounded, sick, about to get kicked out of my house =/ .... a little depressed, stressed out, and there's also a certain someone who is driving me crazy every single day...anyways, i decided to wear all black today to emulate my mood and what i'm going through. i can't take pictures to show you, but next time i'll be sure to. i have on a black hat with my hair pulled back, but my bangs are all in face, really heavy black eyeliner, red lip gloss,..a plain black mid-quarter sleeved shirt, black jeans, and white keds to represent me trying to have hope for the future in this sea of darkness. anyways, when i came across these images, it kind of reminded me of myself in a sense...they're kinda quirky, but cool... and i felt the need to share them with all of you. sooo, go ahead and take a look.

this is probably a 180 from the whole "point" or statement that alexander wang was trying to make with his fall 2011 fashion show. i dig both of them, but i guess this one is tailored more towards my personal design aesthetic. jason wu is an incredible designer. this collection had a very couture/fantasy/regal feel to it that i absolutely enjoyed. the detailing was superb. he incorporated simple garments with lace and little extra bits of fun that popped on the runway. it was all very lady-like and played a lot on tailoring and everything looking polished. i think he succeeded in the message he was trying to get across. jason has fun with his designs but makes them beautiful, wearable, and admirable by any woman from any walk of life. the color palette was so interesting and everything complimented each other. i support the kid, he's out here doing his thing and doing an amazing job at it. so, i'd advise that everyone go and watch the full show for yourself, you'll fall in love.

haha, anyway, i like these. they remind me of my current state right now and how i don't really give a damn about anything around me. i just seem to be taking life day by day and trying to deal with new challenges as they occur but trying my hardest not to stress over them...we'll see how much longer i can stay sane.

alright everyone. now, my dude alexander wang and i have had a love/hate relationship over these past few seasons. this one...ehhhh i don't really know. i looked only at the pictures and finally had any time to actually sit down and watch the entire show. maybe watching the clothing move as the models walk down the runway might have changed my mind. who knows? well, i liked the inspiration behind it though. very cool.

he decided to go ahead and make fun of everything that has been going on in fashion recently. ya know, if you keep up, i'm sure you've noticed that everything has been revolving around glamour and luxury, and blaz-ay blah-zay blah, but he decided to go completely against that whole trend. he wanted to twist all of his clothing to make a comment about this recent foo-foo epidemic and make a joke out of it in a way. all of the outerwear pieces were different fabrics fused together to make a bold statement. it was neat. i think you'll have to go check out the site to get the full affect for yourself. i liked this collection for the most part. i think that the photographs didn't do it as much justice as seeing the video did...and i'm sure that seeing the live show would've made the clothes pretty amazing. uhhhh, oh well. what can ya do?

yeezy! he's all over the place isn't he. kanye is one of those people that gets a ton of flack but i've always supported ol' dude. this is because lyrically, style-wise, and just his overall persona has always been on point. if you look back at the beginnings of almost any celebrity, artist, singer, rapper, whatever..they don't look, act, or sound anything like how they did when they first came out. now i've been a pretty consistent listener of kanye for a looooong time now and i can honestly say that homeboy has always stayed pretty true to himself and i so respect him for that. my beautiful dark twisted fantasy was an amazing album and probably one that i bump in my car the most often. haven't gotten sick of it yet lol.

and i also don't think i will anytime soon. i'm happy that the guy has started to get back in the good graces of the public. i mean, there's still a bunch of people who don't fancy the guy, but hey, you can't make everyone like you now can you kanye. i'm still one of your fans dog.

FINALLY! i've been waiting for these pictures to come out for awhile now and they're finally out here. sweet.! well, i was kind of excited when i found out that vogue us was putting lady gaga as the covergirl for their "power issue" slash spring fashion issue. she totally fits the bill. i would say that i am definitely a gaga fan and a proud little monster. but, at the same time i'd also like to throw it out there that i am not a die-hard fan. i know so many hard core gaga fans, it's ridiculous lol. but don't get me wrong, she is a pretty cool chick. i remember i found out about her long before she was ever featured on the radio or mtv simply because i like to listen to a lot of odd underground stuff, and she was a person that i had come across, liked..but didn't go nuts over. then when she blew up i kind of steered away from listening or even reading about her because i thought that everything she was doing and how she portrayed herself to the world was often very insincere. sooo i suppose after that, i (for whatever reason) started listening to her shit  again and realized that she was pretty cool. then i became very interested in her and the moment i actually started sitting down and listening to her talk, the more i realized how smart she actually is. i'm always one to over analyze things or try to find some conspiracy or hidden meaning behind something and her work allows for me to be able to do that, and it's really fun trying to figure out what goes on inside of her head. she's deep and i dig her for that. i still say that she tries too hard to get attention, but that's okay. you've got to stand out somehow, so i'm down for all of her actions. she's a fly chick. so, i'm not hatin',...just appreciatin'. haha.

but yeah, there goes my two cents on that. i could talk about her for days but i'd feel like i'd bore you all.

and she's tatted up too! oh my gosh you guys, i think i've fallen in love with this image lol.

i think it really is pretty sick though. i mean, it caught my eye..and my eyes are pretty gosh darn hard to catch. let me tall ya'. ahhhh, there's sooo many models being photographed who have visible tattoos as well as celebrities. i will admit that it has become somewhat of a fad and that people shouldn't always latch on the idea of them because they are indeed permanent, but i REALLY like them. i think the ones i want are so original...hmmmm...oh! i made a whole ten minute video on this on my youtube channel so you can go right ahead and check that out just in case you missed it.

soooo...i'm not so sure if every single one of my blog readers is completely aware...maybe those of you who keep up with me on a daily basic, because i'm almost 100% sure that i have mentioned this once or twice before, but in case you missed it, i am not only interesting in womenswear but also in menswear. i think that it is a part of the fashion industry that is still needing some new creativity and gusto. there's been some new menswear designers that have popped up on the scene, but not enough for my personal liking lol.

soooo..anyways, i found this because i was looking for new male models to gawk at haha,

and i came across this abundance of awesomeness.

i found the article on this photograph very interesting. i'll put the link to it at the end of this post so you can go check it out for yourself. it's pretty neat. you know, when you're a fashion obsessed person like myself, one thing that "we" do is not only look to the big designers and labels for inspiration but also the blogs, photographers, and people who post street style things as well. it's a lot more personal and it gives you a chance to really see how all of the big trends, ideas, politics, moral character, ideas of beauty, in tuned with a bunch of other things are translated into people's everyday wear. it's interesting to me. my post doesn't quite correspond directly with the article that i want you guys to read, but it's more of a comment on this whole topic as a whole. i personally love seeing people who break the mold and don't wear what society tells them is alright. i also admire men and women who do follow trends and want to seem or appear "fashionable" but do it with their own twist. i think that's the beauty of it all. when you walk out of the house in whatever it is that you are wearing, it is how you are choosing to present yourself to the rest of the world. people can tell a lot about one another simply by how they dress. that's why i think it's important to go ahead and look at others for inspiration but no to copy. go ahead and be yourself because many can often read through "unrealness"(i'm pretty sure that's not a word lol, but you get my point).

...i don't know, take a second to really think about it.

this is exciting! you guys know how i feel about beauty stuff and what not, so i was pumped to find this editorial for the march 2011 edition of marie claire uk. i like the whole tone of this shoot. very nice. ;)

her skin looks absolutely flawless. i'm so feeling the foundation and blush mixed with the pink lipstick. looks very feminine and also a tad bit seductive at the same time.

anyways, i've been frantically searching the net for the entire shoot inside of the march edition of vogue us and i can't find it ANYWHERE! sorry gaga fans, i want to see it too. it sucks, but i'll keep looking. hopefully i can get to it before it gets released in stores so that my little fashionistas are ahead of the game. i'll keep trying though guys.

i have had an odd fascination with the UK for almost an entire year now....sooo i've been obsessively googling anything to do with that place lol. and i sure was excited when i came across this shoot for their vogue magazine because it's hella bad ass aaaannd two of my favorite models are in it. can't get any better than that now can ya? lol. st. louis is doing it's thing, so everybody better watch out. i have faith in my kids out here trying to do something with themselves. =)

woo-hoo topshop! i cannot wait until my 18th birthday hits next month on MARCH 3RD! (don't forget to wish me happy birthday lol). i'll finally be a woman...wow, weeiirrrdd.

there's three items that i'd really like to purchase from topshop and since i don't live anywhere near new york or london, i'm gonna have to buy the stuff online. i was this red letterman jacket that's like eighty something bucks..then these tan leather strappy heels that are like one-sixty plus, aaand this leopard print dress with a rounded black collar. hopefully none of those things sell out within the next month,...buuut now that i think about it they probably will lol. oh well. i made a long wishlist and put it as a sticky note on the background of my laptop so i know what clothes i want. i added everything up and i'm going to probably need around two-thousand dollars..greeeaat lol.

but that's why they call it a wishlist, right? haha.
