ohhhh boyysss! i've been trying to post more menswear stuff on my blog recently...i hope you've noticed lol. anyways i was looking at trends that are going on currently in men's fashion and a big thing that is happening right now, especially in europe, is guys sporting tons of color.
lol, what a coinky-dink that yesterday i posted on how much i love wearing black and neutrals and today i'm talking about how the fellas need to wear rainbow colors...interesting lol.
soooo teaming tons of bright and vibrant colors is really in style...you don't have to follow the trends, buuuttt, i'm just sayin' i dig it.
i actually do like the idea of guys looking like the obnoxious clowns that they are lol.
juuussstt kidding.
sooo yeah, i picked some of the stills from the burberry show to show you guys as an example.
check it out.
toodles.

Black Fire.

l'officiel brazil.

this is pretty rad, isn't it guys. the whole lace, mesh, sheer thing has been annoying me lately because i've become very sick of it...but this makes me like it again.
i think it's because she has red hair and we all know how much i dig that shit.
lol.
i love black clothes. no one looks bad in black...so classic...slimming...yeah, love it.
i have quite a few "fashionista" friends who are always on my case about not ever wearing color and always being drawn towards darker/boring colors buuutttt, i'm just going to keep doing me.
the argument i hear against it for the most part is that it's nothing special, boring, too safe...not interesting...
i agree with some of those statements but i think that black is classic. it makes anyone and everyone look great..
so eff the haters.
who cares if i like wearing neutral colors...let me do me and you can go ahead and keep doing you.

Dsquared.

s/s 2011 ad campaigns.
by mert alas and marcus piggott.
sun feifei.
crystal renn.
anna jagodzinska.

have you all seen these???
i've been overwhelmed with ad campaigns that have been coming out for next season and i don't know why but i never felt the need to make any of the "blog worthy."
i mean, yes they're cool and all but they all kinda looked like...well, typical ad campaigns.
this one does too but i liked it a lot.
sorta caught my eye amongsts that millions of others ones out there.
taaaakkke a look.

Suburban Secrets.

sooo i think i found my style twin.
even though this probably isn't her real style or way of dressing, i would like to think it is.
a lot of people ask me daily to define my style for them...for me, it's kind of (well REALLY) hard to explain because it doesn't necessarily fit into one particular category. it sort of spills over into a few.
i'm pretty chill for the most part, i'm into the whole grungy thing but not in excess.
i like to look "put together" if that makes any sense. i also tend to lean towards classic things...like i wear a ton of black..i like pearls, red lipstick, and oxfords.
i enjoy blazers quite a bit. i own a ton of them and i really want two more and then i'll finally be done purchasing them lol.
my style, to me, sort of REALLY mimics my whole personality. it's kind of quirky, out there, and fun...buuutt at the same time my color choices symbolize that i can also be serious..(well..sometimes lol)
soooo yeahh, i have no idea if that makes any sort of sense to you but i hope that it does.
tah-tah for now.
ohhh, whoops i forgot, i said a little while ago that i was going to start posting more of my personal outfit on here, i didn't forget..so they are indeed coming, just stay tuned.
ok now...let's try that again.
tah-tah for now fashionistas.! byyeee.
=D

(the only thing i don't like about this is that leather orangey skirt thing on the third outfit, otherwise, i'd so wear everything else.)

ok, even though this is a couple years old i still wanted to post it.
i miss devon aoki! where the heck is this girl.
i remember when lagerfeld was like obsessed with her and thought she was the coolest thing ever.
and she definitely was. she's has a very distinct look which makes her very intriguing and fun for fashion lovers to watch. she can sell some clothes, i'll tell ya that.
because every single time i'd see this girl model something i automatically wanted it.
that's what models are supposed to do. work it and make stuff sell.
sooo i found one of my favorite editorials of her in it and put the pics up.
hope ya like them.

wow, i've never seen this before. i had no idea this was lily donaldson when i first came across this.
she looks amazing. the styling for this is bananas. lovvveee iittttt.
and we all know that i'm a huge fan of the late, great alexander mcqueen so i had to show this to you guys.
i want to print all the pictures out and stare at them every single day for the rest of my life.
i think that this tribute to him was very original and different from a lot of the others that i have seen.
i'm really feeling this whole take on it. it's awesome.
ya know folks, it takes a lot for things to really strike me and impress me fashion photography wise, because i pretty much spend my entire existence looking at this stuff lol, so this must truly be a one of a kind shoot.
i'll go ahead and put a link at the end so that you can see all of the photographs taken by mr. klein.
i hope you guys have a marvelous day and enjoy the rest of your week.

Vogue Italia.

vogue italy.
january 2011.
steven meisel.

holy shit! this is absolutely amazing. i am so fascinated and engaged by this meisel shoot. it's nods to seventies vintage style photography and styling is breath-taking. the modeling industry is the sector of fashion that i become more and more intrigued by every single day. without legit models, the clothes would be nothing. now some designers create outstanding pieces that can just look good on a hanger but models always add that extra touch of elegance and excellence that is needed to make the garments look even more spectacular.
i myself, if i don't end up going into design, would love to either open up my own, or work for an agency. i think that the talent that is out there currently has so much potential. i'm excited to see who the leading models of this decade will be.
well...we know karlie kloss and chanel iman are doing their thing.
and we all know i'm rootin' for them. lol.
well..i gotta go apply for college now.

makeup: alex box.

i felt like my blog was looking just a tad bit dark, so i figured i should brighten it up a bit.
i'm excited about this. i want to sit and stare at these images so that i can find a deeper meaning within them because i somehow feel like a ton of work was put into this shoot.
it looks like it's trying to say something.
maybe it's not, but i'm one who likes to keep hope alive lol.
the makeup here is pretty dope.
i'm feeling this whole concept.
look at it for yourself, see if it speaks to you.

Pheobe Farrell.

alrighty folks so this is a heads up to all of those people out there to like to stay hip to the new trends...
the new thing for the year 2011 seems to be white slash bleach bleach bleachy blonde hair, and i must admit, i am loving it.
i always fancied pixie style hair cuts with really light hair color.
looks pretty rad.
pheobe wears it so well by the way.
so say good-bye to your jersey shore tans because the pale half-dead look is in and i am obsessed with it.
i'm so happy people are now going back to the "natural" looks, they suite people so much better.

Iron Maiden.

december 2010.

soooo i try to find images that evoke some sort of feeling or point.
i'm really into finding new talent, (model wise) and this chick has been of interest to me for a little while now. i like her look. now, saying that, i wonder what it is about how females are portrayed in the world at large today. why is that looking "hard" or "tough" is so intriguing to all of us. i'm down with it sometimes but then i also yawn at some of the things i see where the focal point of a collection, magazine spread, or whatever it is, is the topic of young female rebellion.
why is that? i feel like a lot of people have lost an interest in trying to be wholesome or "lady-like."
why is everyone so hung up on trying to be so different? when they do that and strive to be something that they are not, they then end up losing themselves...
i mean look at television for example, the show on mtv Life as Liz, (which is an awesome show that i don't always see all the time) is focused on a girl who is a self proclaimed nerd and her life trying not to fit in.
do you ever notice how no one wants to be a cheerleader anymore, or the "popular girl"..
everyone wants to be some hippy artist or band geek, which is cool..but i wonder, why has that stigma changed so drastically??
i have so much more to say on this particular subject but i won't bore you with anymore of my rants lol.
new posts coming soon.
toodles guys. ;)
