alexander mcqueen.
designer: sarah burton.
ready-to-wear.
fall 2011.
paris fashion week.
ok, so i think that sarah burton really made her mark with this and managed to excite the masses. she put this collection together brilliantly. sarah was able to pay homage to alexander mcqueen but still make this her own. i really like her touch on things. she has an incredible aesthetic and way of piecing things together. the linear elements mixed with the fantastic overlapping of different textures made this show beautiful. the models' hair was completely covered with metal barrettes that added a slight edge and harshness to it all. the contrasting black and white garments were simply superb. this show was only yesterday but the buzz around it right now is bananas. everybody is so pumped up and really ready for the future of the mcqueen brand. i know i am. i liked this so much because you could tell it was made for women by a woman. i always find that to pull me in when looking at stellar collections like this. there was a major battle going on between the black looks that were really hard mixed in with the gorgeous whites and lighter colors that had incredible structure and airiness to them. i just have so many positive things to say about this show. this was definitely one of my favorites out of this whole "fashion month" so far, as my girl karlie kloss likes to put it. lol.
well, i think that's enough for now. i guess i just have to find some looks to summarize the greatness of this collection. hope you guys enjoy the pics. have a good one.
